Kimber Camp Guard 10MM — Table Top Review

| March 19, 2017 | 4 Comments

Table Top review of the Kimber Camp Guard 10MM.

Kimber was never a brand that captured my attention until 2017. There were three products added to the Kimber portfolio that made me take notice. 1st the Kimber K6s revolver previously reviewed, the Kimber Super Jagagre 10MM and this Kimber Camp Guard 10 MM. Kimber partnered with the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation to configure the ideal back country defensive handgun in a high powered cartridge. Proceeds from each purchase will go towards conservation.

Features:
Full Size 1911/Frame
Skeletonized Trigger
Checkered Frame Front
5inch Ramped Barrel
Night Sights
Flat Top Slide with Rounded Edges
Serrated BobTail Mainspring Housing

Some say the Colt Delta Elite saved the 10MM, well Kimber has extended its legacy.

I was able to get my hands on the Camp Guard 10 at SHOT Show, this past January. It is a nice looking gun, but time will tell to see how it handles on the range. Sadly, I didn’t make it to the Kimber tent at Range Day.

    Thanks for sharing.

I just bought a Camp Guard 10. After 400+ rounds I have at least one failure to feed. I’m sending it in to Kimber for repairs or refinement. It’s very disappointing. I own a 90’s Pro Tactical 11 that has never had a failure to feed.

  3. Jeff,

WIth only one failure to feed you are sending it back to Kimber? I understand perfection but with just one failure to feed are you sure it wasn’t an ammo issue or you having an off day. Limp wristing is real my friend.

PICKED ONE UP TODAY, 100 ROUNDS SIG 180 GRAIN THRU IT NO PROBLEMS.
    SHOT GREAT, ACCURATE, CONTROLLABLE.
SHOT MY LW COMMANDER IN 9MM AFTER. IT WAS LIKE SHOOTING A AIR PISTOL.
CAMP GUARD 10 IS MUCH BETTER THAN THE DELTA ELITE.
